FaceRec™ Facial Recognition Technology changing lives – from Viseum®

Russian “domestic abuse”

Victims of domestic abuse have an expression that is easy to see. The look of living a lie. Trusting someone you know is wrong but going along with them anyway. Viseum’s advanced face recognition technology has been used to look for this expression on social media. Typically, 1.6% of males and 5.3% of females in each country were likely in abusive relationships when their faces were recorded. But a staggering 72.8% of males and 87.7% of females in Russia, possessed the same common expression of coercive abuse.

Facial Recognition Technology

Viseum’s Facial Recognition Technology uses video analytics for person profiling. Studying people’s facial features, expressions, and micro-expressions. AI technology uses this information to understand a person’s general character, personality traits and behaviours. This is correlated with growing libraries of known facial characteristics and expressions.

“During critical operations such as border crossings or criminal investigations, imagine the huge value of having face recognition technology identifying threats. Just by looking at somebody. Imagine if you can tell if a person is lying or feeling guilty about something.” (UK CCTV working group).

Terrorists

Facial Recognition Technology

This face recognition technology is helping low-paid workers improve their people skills. Police services can immediately identify thieves. Dangerous people who could commit assault. People who are likely carrying weapons. Even terrorists. Local authorities are benefiting. Social services can notice the differences between people under their responsibility. From recognizing good families and troubled families. Helping identify sex offenders, paedophiles, drug users and even drug dealers.

Racism

Perpetrators of this crime will have expressions of disregard, disliking and anger towards their victims. They will often seek a higher standing or sitting position. Tilt their head back to look down at their victims. Ageing algorithms are also used for how such expressions affect face formation and wrinkles.
