Viseum-driven Rapid Videosweeper

Before Videosweeper:

In today’s global security climate there is a real need to combat the terrorist threat as well as deal with the ever increasing crime and antisocial bill, whilst saving on the running costs for achieving all of this. Security organisations around the world spend many millions each year searching through days or even months of video for just a few seconds of crucial evidence. On many occasions, lack of resource necessary to watch through days or even weeks of video recordings precluded CCTV evidence from actually being used as intended. This resulted in the dilution of the value of the entire CCTV scheme as a deterrent against all types of crime, from serious crimes to misdemeanours.

Now we have Videosweeper:

No matter when or where an incident took place, its recordings can be found within moments of looking for it. CCTV stake holders now realise the full asset value of their CCTV schemes by having them used to their fullest. CCTV Investigations are now processed rapidly with unparalleled accuracy using Viseum’s automated retrospective video search tool Videosweeper.

How Videosweeper Works?

Using Viseum’s advanced Video Content Analysis software, all events are recorded together with relevant information necessary to search for them again. Rule based parameters are stored such as size, shape, time, speed, location and with any colour reference of the event. Events are easily searched for in a way similar to a Google internet search i.e. with an easy to use and familiar Windows-based interface, it is ideal for use by non-technical personnel. Further advanced searches can be made based on edges, texture and background reference.

Example of Serious Crime Investigation

Car Bombing

  • When was the car parked?
  • Where did the car come from?
  • How many people arrived in the car?
  • How many people left the car and when?
  • How many cars stopped or drove slowly in that area over the past 6 weeks?
  • How much close up evidence of all these events is available?

Within moments a complete story line of the entire investigation is available to share amongst relevant emergency authorities. Arrests can be made and the immediate and long term deterrent against further attacks can be sustained.

Example of Low Priority Crime Investigation

Graffiti
